Wow, what have I been up to for the past couple months??? Guess it is about time I caught up on my adventures. Lets start with my introduction to real "football" in Manchester. I mean, I love my Portland Timbers, but it doesn't really compare to the monstrosity of the Man U experience. Huge stadium packed full of fans, and us just along for the ride :-)
Nate, Steve and I flew out for a long weekend adventure. We went a day early so that we could have some time to explore around.
Of course I had to play with some of the artifacts we came across. I am so strong!
And we ate lots of really delicious food (amazing how unhealthy you can eat for a weekend after eating so healthy for so long in Denmark), feel so quickly off the healthy waggon... It was worth it ;-p

Always such a fun time in England, it is a nice change to be somewhere that you will always be able to understand (well unless you run into some Scotts, then it is like another language, ha). I am glad to live in a country where it still is easy to get around in English, I do wonder what it would have been like to live somewhere that I had to learn the language... I actually think that would have been kind of interesting, mostly if I had gone do Spain for 2 years. Then I would have learned Spanish for sure, and probably would have actually been able to use it again after leaving (Danish... not so much).
Our next plan is to go see one of the matches at the Euro Cup 2011 in Poland in June. I think we will take another long weekend and drive down there this time, 9 hours in a car with two smelly boys, hmmm, maybe I will rethink this. I could always fly and meet them there.
Either way, I am excited for that next football adventure (and really football seems like such a more reasonable name for a game that is played with your feet and a ball... silly Americans)
